Gas For Sale Saturday, School in Session Next Week, Library Open
Here's a wrap of the alerts just sent to residents tonight. School will be in session Nov. 8 and Nov. 9; the township is going to sell gas again on Saturday; and the Library will be open this weekend.
The East Brunswick School District just announced that since the New Jersey Education Association’s conference next week was canceled, there will now be school on Thursday Nov. 8, and Friday, Nov. 9.
In addition, the SAT scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, has been postponed for Nov. 17. For more information, visit www.collegeboard.com for the most up-to-date information. All school events scheduled for this weekend are also cancelled.
Also, the township announced that the library will be open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 9 p.m.
Mayor Stahl said Election Day is still scheduled for Tuesday, and polling places are expected to be the same. However, polling sites will be finalized on Saturday afternoon, so check back on any potential changes.
Need gas? The township is going to sell a limited amount of gasoline to residents again on Saturday, Nov. 3, for $3 a gallon, at the Municipal Complex.
Township residents ONLY who are in need of a small amount of gasoline to power generators may come to the municipal building to purchase that gasoline. The township will fill ONE 5 gallon can per hoiusehold and the gas must be paid for in cash.
Parking will be in the Township’s Municipal lot. Anyone seeking to purchase gasoline is required to show proof of residency of East Brunswick, your information will be recorded. Those who do not bring the appropriate amount of cash or who cannot provide proof of residency will not be sold gasoline.
You MUST bring an approved container for the storage and transportation of gasoline. Gas will not be dispensed into unapproved containers. NO vehicles will be fueled.
The Township of East Brunswick assumes no responsibility for your voluntary participation in this program.

I got the PSA from Mayor Stahl from Friday morning about the gas sale at 4.45 pm, rushed to the Municipal Bldg, took me 45inutes to travel 3.5 miles from my home because of all the traffic restrictions, only to have a cop refuse entry even though there were still people in line. Cop told me there will be another sale on Sat morning at 10.00 am but to get ther early since gas stock is already limited. Nice going with the PSA, Mayor!! What the heck are the PR officials doing?
