Hydrant Flushing Program Begins April 15

When does your road fall on the list?

The Water and Sewer department will begin its spring hydrant flushing program from April 15 to April 26. The flushing will take place in different areas throughout the time form 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.

The department flushes the hydrants twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall, to maintain and test tall water mains.

There may be a noticeable decrease in pressure, as well as discoloration in the water.  This is not physically harmful and will not affect the safety of the water for drinking and sanitation purposes.  The department advises that no laundry be done if the water appears to be discolored.
