When I dropped off some canned goods in the early morning, they were so polite and helpful, carrying the heavy items from my car into the firehouse. EB, you can be very proud of your guys at EBIFD!

Great job EBFD! Just wanted to let you know that about 4 miles up the road on 535 in Sayerville, there is a complete disaster that is the direct result of Cyclone Sandy! There are about 300 families that have been displaced and may never be able to move back into their homes. Children are being driven to and from school dailyby family or friends from whatever hotel were available, some an hour away! Almost every home on the South Rivers edge, including the swamp land has been distroyed. THIS IS THEIR 3RD FLOOD IN 32 MONTHS! These people are trapped with homes that were originally not in a flood zone. They can not sell them, and many will not be able to afford to fix them, and many have decided to walk away because it will only flood again. There is a huge food/clothing/furniture pantry that has been set up for the victims that were directly hit by the floods. The swells were 10-13 feet high! The basements are distroyed, most main floors are now stripped down to the studs. This is an on going emergency that will be in effect for many months to come. Families have been sent to hotels as far as Penn. because they were all filled up locally. I am an East Brunswick resident and I know the worst thing that I had to deal with was my electric not being on for ten days. I have dedicated my everyday to helping these wonderful people of Sayreville and my hope is that other will read this and come out and volunteer as well for our neighbors in Sayreville.

Left on Washington (still 535) right on South minisink rd. Left on Cheese quake. Just past Dupont on your right side. This pantry is completely run by volunteers SAYREVILLE STORM RELIEF FUND and donations from all over the states. The hours are Mon-Fri 10-8 and Sat-Sun 8-5. Just come in ready to help, sign in and we will give you a very rewarding job to do helping somebody who has been directly effected by the storm! Thank you, Robin Shulman
