Kohl's has announced more than $425,000 is available in prizes and scholarships to students who have made a difference through volunteer work.

According to a press release from Kohl's, nominations are being accepted through March 15 for the Kohl's Cares program.

Students between the ages of 6-18 are eligible to enter.

More than 2,000 students will be awarded, the release said.

Two local nominees from the East Brunswick Kohl's store will each win a $50 gift card, and 200 regional nominees will win $1,000 scholarships, the release said.

Ten national winners will be awarded $10,000 scholarships, and for each national winner, Kohl's will also donate $1,000 to a charity of the winner's choice, the release said.
