Here are a few suggestions if you looking for a book to pick up this summer.

“Fear and Yoga in New Jersey,” “Electric Barracuda” and “Summer of Night,” are just a few suggestions local librarians have for great books you won’t want to put down.

Fear and Yoga in New Jersey,” by Debra Galant. A humorous look at life in New Jersey for a yoga teacher and her family.

Summer of Night,” by Dan Simmons. A great coming-of-age horror story set in a small Midwestern town. A timeless horror classic by the Hugo Award winning Simmons.

The Man in the Rockefeller Suit: The Astonishing Rise and Spectacular Fall of a Serial Imposter,” by Mark Seal. A true story of the ultimate con man. Who is Clark Rockefeller? How does he fool so many people? A riveting, fascinating story.

Just kids: from Brooklyn to the Chelsea Hotel: A Life of Art and Friendship,” by Patti Smith. Winner of the 2010 National Book Award for Non-Fiction. Patti Smith’s memoir of her early days in New York City and her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Beautifully written.

Electric Barracuda,” by Tim Dorsey. The latest adventures of Serge A. Storms and his sidekick Coleman. Serge and Coleman are, as usual, traveling around Florida in search of the more obscure tourists attractions. What happens when Serge, Florida’s maniacal serial killer, goes off his meds?  Come along for the ride and enjoy the hilarity.
