Mandatory Evacuations in East Brunswick
Main Street from River Road to Old Bridge Turnpike; Squire Street; Emerson Street; Oak Street; River Road up to Millman Drive; Millman Drive; Jernee Drive; Cornell Drive; and portions of Addington Court are to be evacuated
Mayor David Stahl has declared a State of Emergency for the township and called for the mandatory evacuation of several areas of town, including:
Main Street from River Road to Old Bridge Turnpike; Squire Street; Emerson Street; Oak Street; River Road up to Millman Drive; Millman Drive; Jernee Drive; Cornell Drive; and portions of Addington Court.
The mandatory evacuation order was signed by Mayor Stahl, Deputy Chief William Krause and OEM Coordinator Austin Kosik.

Locally, there is a secondary shelter at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 367 Cranbury Road (next to Central School). This shelter will open at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28.
The East Brunswick Office of Emergency Management and the East Brunswick Police Department will activate the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) beginning at midnight tonight in preparation for Hurricane Sandy. All storm related emergencies will be handled through the EOC. To report any storm related emergency or problem, call the EOC at 732-432-6004.

Just a note...I had out of state guests from Ohio this weekend and they let me know on their way home on Interstate 80, they passed droves of electric and tree service trucks coming this way......guess they are expecting this to be bad....need some D batteries!!!

......sounds like same sight I saw on I-95 this past August and last, with utility company trucks that were responding to Isaac and Irene.

We are in North Carolina and are trying to get some information on an area of apartments around Lake Avenue in East Brunswick. Is there flooding or damage in that area? Were people evacuated from that area?
