The East Brunswick Bears won the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 Championship by scoring a 59-49 victory over Trenton Monday night.

The house was packed as Trenton kept it close early, before eventually giving way to an East Brunswick squad that played hard at both ends of the court.

Rob Ukawuba, who will attend NJIT in the fall, led the team with 22 points and nine rebounds. Teammate Danny Leung notched 15 points and 4 rebounds.

The title is East Brunswick’s fist since the 1985-86 season. Next up is a showdown with Atlantic City at Egg Harbor Township at 5:30 p.m. for the Group 4 state Semi-finals.
