U-11 All Stars Win Ripken Mid-Atlantic Title
The wins just keep coming for the EBBL squad.
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the East Brunswick Baseball League U-11 All-Stars defeated Warrington, Pa., to earn the title of Cal Ripken Mid-Atlantic Regional Champs.
During the tournament, the squad notched victories over Montgomery, N.J., Bear, Del., Upper Mid West Maryland and East Amherst, N.Y., before defeating the host team in the final.
The team's hard work and perseverance enabled it to overcome the team from Warrington, which had jumped out to a one run lead early in the final game.
Up next for this talented group of players is a trip to Aberdeen, Md., where they will participate in an invitational tournament at the Cal Ripken Baseball Facility.
Before the tournament, the team’s record was 33 and 2. After winning the District 9 Championship, the squad won the Ripken Northern New Jersey State Championship Tournament in Matawan, held in late July, by defeating the team from Montville. The team also won the Edison Baseball League Summer Tournament.
The team includes Jacob Bauman, Nick Martino, James Schuld, Scott Dessel, Eric Loeser, Andrew Polinski, Ryan Flyn, Tyler Burnham, Matt Bartus, Mike Falco, Ryan Crocco, Branden Rosenthal, manager Bob Burnham and coaches Carl Falco, Jeff Schuld and Mark Loeser.
