Have a hankering to work in retail? A new department store about to open in Woodbridge Center is hiring. Boscov's, one of the last of the family-owned department store chains in the country, will be interviewing job candidates starting Monday, June. Job seekers can go to their interview center, located on the upper level of the mall across from Chick-Fil-A. Interview center hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 10 am to 6 pm, and Fridays, 10 am to 3 pm. Full and part time sales staff and support associates are being hired. The mid-level department store announced last year that they were moving into the old Fortunoff store, a space of 150,000 sq. ft. The new stores will go in at the corner of Route 18 north and West Ferris Street.
Demolition is complete at a construction site at Route 18 and West Ferris Street, and crews are working on what will be a new CVS pharmacy and Advanced Auto Parts store. The site was originally approved in February 2012 for a CVS and a bank, but the applicant, The Coremark Group, based in Wycoff, came back to the township planning board and changed their application, according to Greg Potkulski, director of planning and engineering for East Brunswick. According to planning board minutes, a resolution again came before the board at its November 2012 meeting, amending the plans for the site to include the auto parts store. Potkulski said he was not aware of the construction time line for the site. The CVS is slated to be 14,600 sq. feet and …

A restaurant with more than 330 locations in the U.S. will open its first set of New Jersey doors on Monday right here in East Brunswick. Noodles & Company is a new restaurant that offers pasta, salads, soup and sandwiches in three styles: Italian/Mediterranean, American, and Asian. The restaurant is operated by Mascott Corporation, the same company who recently opened the East Brunswick and North Brunswick Smashburger locations. Scott Gilman, president and CEO of Mascott Corporation, said the idea to open a Noodles & Company location came about during his trips to Denver, Colo., where the restaurant originated and is quite popular, with 40 locations in the Denver metro area. Noodles & Company, a new restaurant that boasts a menu of international pasta, soup, salad and sandwich selections, will open its doors to the public on Monday at its grand opening.
