Learn more about Hydrofracking and the issues surrounding it during a discussion at 1 p.m., Monday, May 21, at the East Brunswick Public Library. Join Ira L. Whitman, Ph.D., an environmental engineer and consultant, who will discuss the pros and cons of this current and controversial topic which involves extracting natural gas from shale.
Dr. Whitman is a recognized expert on site remediation and on compliance with ISRA, the New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act. He serves on the Site Remediation Advisory Committee, a group established to assist the state Department of Environmental Protection in implementing its site remediation activities. This program is sponsored by the Middlesex Chapter of the Brandeis National Committee and The Library.
