County Fair, Discount Days, Rues Lane Paving This Week in East Brunswick

What's going on in East Brunswick this week?

Good morning East Brunswick!

Another nice week is predicted, consider taking advantage of it at the Middlesex County Fair or in the pool at Crystal Springs. Here's a list of some things happening in East Brunswick this week.

1. The Middlesex County Fair opens tonight at the fairgrounds on Cranbury Road and runs through Aug. 11. Plenty of activities for the whole family are planned. More information is available here.

2. Are you interested in yoga? The East Brunswick Library invites residents to a "Yoga Basics" workshop at either 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5. Admission is free, but participants must bring a yoga mat.

3. There's three discount days this week at Crystal Springs! On Tuesday, Aug. 6, senior citizens ages 60 and older will be admitted at $5 for East Brunswick residents, $10 for non-residents. A driver's license or proof of age is required.

On Tuesday, Aug 7, members of the Library Reading Club will be admitted for free between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Parents and siblings will pay a reduced rate of $5, according to the Crystal Springs website.

Friday, Aug. 9 is designated as "East Brunswick Public Safety/Township Employee Day," meaning all rescue squad members, library employees, volunteer firefighters, and municipal and public safety employees will be admitted free between 3-7 p.m.

Their families will be admitted for $5 per person. According to the website, employees must show proper ID or a recent pay stub and rescue squad members and firefighters must show identification designating them as such.

4. Paving on Rues Lane between Summerhill Road and Route 18 continues this week through Wednesday. The road will remain open, but delays are expected.

5. The Aug. 7 Planning Board meeting has been canceled, according to the township website.
