The Week Ahead in East Brunswick: Primaries, "Spamalot" Auditions, Community Night

A list of events happening this week in East Brunswick.

Good morning, East Brunswick. It's a new week, and here is a list of things happening around town this week to take note of. Have a great week!

1. The East Brunswick Township Council will hold a meeting at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 in the township municipal building. View the agenda here.

2. The primaries are on Tuesday, and Representative Rush Holt is vying against Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Congressman Frank Pallone, and Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Click here to locate your polling place.

3. Do you dream of being on the stage? Consider auditioning for Playhouse 22's production of "Spamalot", set to be staged in November.

Auditions will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 and Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, according to the playhouse website.

4. The East Brunswick Public Library has started a new program especially for tweens, or those youth entering grades 5-7. Come to the library at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 for "Tween Time."

5. East Brunswick's Community Night Out will be held from 3-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. Bring your whole family for a night of rides, food, a Tricky Tray and 50/50, and a free concert at 7 p.m., featuring the band Tequila Rose.
