East Brunswick Residents, Dance Team Accompanied Bruno Mars in Super Bowl

East Brunswick residents Simone Portera and Danielle Portera along with eleven talented women of the Bearfoot Dancers Major League Dance Team had the experience of a lifetime during this year’s Super Bowl held on February 2, 2014. These ladies were chosen to be a part of Bruno Mars’ halftime performance.

The Bearfoot  Dancers perform for the Somerset Bears Football Team, a member of the Major League Football Organization. The Bearfoot Dancers also perform for charity and community events throughout NJ. They are a volunteer, nonprofit  dance team. Auditions are held annually during the spring months.

These dancers were chosen to join over nine hundred other participants to enjoy a free concert during Pepsi’s Halftime Show. They attended three practices before the big show, which took about five to seven hours each.  They were given simple choreographed moves, which included fist pumping, jumping, and singing all the lyrics tothe songs performed. The best and most unexpected part was that these ladies had prime spots for the show. They were strategically placed alongside Bruno’s drummer, right against the stage!
