The East Brunswick Middle School ice hockey team defeated Metuchen, 6-0, on Sunday.
The Bears applied pressure early, but despite generating multiple chances, they were stymied by the great play of the Metuchen goalie. The first period ended in a 0-0.
The Bears stuck with it and finally broke through in the second. They took a 2-0 lead with goals from Tony Thomas and Spencer Lee.
East Brunswick continued dominating the play in the third period. Joey Marrero scored early in the period.
Spencer Lee then scored his second goal of the game to make the score 4-0. Nisal Amarasinghe and Bernie Shuravesky added two more goals for the Bears for the final score of 6-0.
The Bears' next game will be against Colonia on May 29, 7:30 p.m.
