Beekman Road to Close Tuesday and Wednesday Nights for Salamander Migration

Beekman Road will be closed overnight between Church Lane and Davidson Mills Road.

If you need to drive on Beekman Road tonight, don't be annoyed by its closure. It's for the salamanders.

Beekman Road between Church Lane and Davidson Mills Road will close at 6 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 26 and reopen at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.

It will again be closed at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and reopen at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, according to the East Brunswick Police Department.

The reason for the closure is to accommodate the annual migration of the spotted salamander.
