Aside from editing what Menken called “the nation’s most well-regarded magazine that comes from a Jewish perspective,” Podhoretz is the author of four books, including “Bush Country: How Dubya Became a Great President While Driving Liberals Insane” and “Can She Be Stopped?: Hillary Clinton Will Be the Next President of the United States Unless…”

“There are a lot of associations when you hear the word ‘conservative,’ so this is an opportunity for people who still aren’t sure of what it means or what the thinking is to meet and hear directly from one of our nation’s leading conservative thinkers,” Menken said.

The RJC invited numerous local Republican candidates to attend the speech, but how many will be present is unconfirmed, Menken said.

There will be a Q&A session after Podhoretz’s presentation, followed by a reception, where those who attend will get to “mix and mingle” with the local candidates, Menken said.

“It’s a great way for people in the community to meet each other, who are interested in politics, who are interested Republican candidates have to say (and) what conservative thinkers have to say,” Menken said. “It’ll be a nice event for everybody.”
