Crystal Springs Gears Up for Summer

Aquatic Center Opens Saturday, May 26,

It takes a lot more than water to make summer fun. At , it takes months of preparations.

“We’ve had guys here since January,” said Recreation Director Michael Reissner. “Every time they finish something there is more to be done.

Since January, workers have been smoothing out flaws in the pools, improving bathrooms, and putting a new coat of blue on the Aquatic Center’s attractions. In addition, those who come visit this summer can expect to see two new women’s changing areas, new lawn chairs, and a new area under a tent available for rent.

Regular attractions include the Blue Lagoon, Bubble Beach, Cozy Creek, Sapphire Bay, Splash Landing and a sandy beach area.

In addition, the township is looking for sponsors to help make the entire enterprise self-sufficient. Advertisers will get their company name or logo on a sponsored attraction, which includes picnic grills, picnic tables, park benches, life jackets, Cozy Creek tubes, shade umbrellas, as well as sponsorship of the new group rental area and the landscaped areas.

Crystal Springs will be open on weekends only from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May 26 to June 24. From June 25 to Aug. 5 it will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 pm., and from Aug. 6 to Sept. 3 it will be open from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. everyday.

Memberships for East Brunswick residents as of April 17 are: $400 for a family $200 for an individual and $150 for senior citizens (60 and older). Non-resident memberships are: $595 for a family, $295 for an individual, and $240 for a senior citizen.

Daily passes are also available. For East Brunswick residents, daily passes are $10 for weekdays, $13 for weekends and holidays, and $8 if you come after 4 p.m. ore are under 48 inches. Senior citizens get $1 off each of those prices as appropriate.

For non-residents, a weekday pass is $18, a weekend or holiday pass is $24, and $15 for those who are less than 48 inches or who come after 4 p.m.
