East Brunswick Historical Society Looks at Dark Side of NJ

Accomplished author and historian Marc Mappen to open program.

The East Brunswick Historical Society will present the first of a five part program series on New Jersey: The Dark Side with extensive exhibits and distinguished speakers on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.

The opening speaker will be Marc Mappen, author of Prohibition Gangsters and There’s More to New Jersey Than the Sopranos.  

Mappen, a PHD, teaches at Rutgers University and is the co-editor of the  award-winning Encyclopedia of New Jersey and author of Jerseyana: The Underside of New Jersey History.

He has written articles for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications. The New York Times has hailed him as the “eminent New Jersey historian.”

This program will take place at the East Brunswick Historical Society, located at 78 Milltown Road in East Brunswick. Refreshments will be served.
