East Brunswick Receives "Tree City" Designation for 35th Time

An Arbor Day celebration will be held on April 25 at Memorial School.

East Brunswick has again been named a "Tree City U.S.A" by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its forestry programs and tree-friendly governance.

According to a press release from the East Brunswick department of Recreation and Parks, the foundation places this naming on municipalities that meet the following standards: a city tree ordinance, a legal tree governing body, a comprehensive urban forestry program and observance of Arbor Day.

The latest naming is the 35th time East Brunswick has received this designation, according to Michael Reissner, director of the  Recreation and Parks department.
