Fine, Furry Felines to Adopt

Looking for a pet? Find one this weekend by attending several events sponsored by the this weekend. ARF holds weekly adoption events throughout the area to find homes for animals that would have been euthanized in a shelter or whose parents can no longer care for them.

Every Saturday and Sunday you can find ARF at the PetSmart on Route 18 in East Brunswick from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; at the Petco on Route 1 in Edison from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and at the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Road, Englishtown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (located in the big gray building). While many animals are available, here are just a few you can find this weekend.

Jerry is a very friendly, outgoing 1-year-old male tabby cat who will be available in Edison this weekend. He is a lap cat and will want you to pet him and give him the attention he deserves. He looks like he may be a mix of Abyssinian and also has extra toes. He will be neutered once his URI is over. He is $100 to adopt, which includes his neutering, shots, combo test and microchip. Jerry will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison in the Home Depot shopping center, open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For directions, go to ARF web site. Piper is 2-year-old boxer hound mix that will be available for adoption at the Englishtown site. She was adopted from ARF as a baby, and returned because they said she wasn't good with their baby. She needs a home that does not have small children. Otherwise, she is sweet and a good dog. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She weighs about 25 pounds. Holly is about 1 year old cairn/terrier mix, friendly but a little nervous at first. To adopt her will cost $250, which includes her spay, shots, ID chip and heartworm test. She is the sister of Sonny, but she doesn't like him very much. Bright is a beautiful medium-length haired female kitten, 9 month-old-cat. She is shy at the adoption center, but friendly and very lively at home. She has luxurious fur, a beautiful tail. She has been spayed/neutered and is up-to-date on shoits. Bright will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison in the Home Depot shopping center, open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For directions, go to ARF web site.
