Fourth of July Weekend Events

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here's a few things happening next door.

July 3:

The city fireworks display will be held at Boyd Park on Sunday, starting at 7 p.m. with a free concert.

Rumba Con Son will perform from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by the Fins from 8 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., and then the fireworks display over the Raritan River. General parking will be available for free at the Public Safety Parking Desk at the corner of Commercial Avenue and Neilson Street. Handicap parking is available in Boyd Park for the event. July 4:

Christ Episcopal Church, 5 Paterson St., will have a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 11 a.m. in the church's yard, followed by a talk about the historic document came to be. 

Buccleuch Mansion, Buccleuch Park, Easton Avenue, will host open tours of the museum and an event at 1:30 p.m., talking about the Continental Army's presence in New Brunswick on July 4, 1778, following Congress' 1776 approval and declaration of national independence, according to Bob Belvin, New Brunswick Library Director.
