It’s still spring, but summer is just around the corner. Get a new look at one of New Jersey’s most popular summer hotspots when author Michael Fowler discusses his book “Lifeguards of the Jersey Shore,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 5, at the East Brunswick Public Library. The book focuses not only on modern rescue techniques, but on 200 years of history, beginning with lighthouses and the Life Saving Service. Fowler is Professor of Marketing at Brookdale Community College has been ocean lifeguarding every summer since 1964. He is currently the Lifeguard Supervisor for the Monmouth County Park system.  His articles have been published by “American Lifeguard Magazine” and other publications.  He also is a charter member of the American Lifesaving Association.  This event promises to shed new light on this noble profession. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Farmers Market

 The Rahway Train Station, 1 City Hall Plaza, Rahway, will be hosting a "Jersey Fresh" Farm Market.  This will take place very Thursday, beginning May 5, 2011 from 11:00am - 7:00pm.  Featuring the very best of “Jersey Fresh” produce, farm-fresh baked goods, artisan pickles and more!  All are welcome.

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience at the State Theater of New Jersey. On Thursday, may 5, at 8 p.m.

Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience, lead by the son of late Zeppelin drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham, is a must-see concert for Zeppelin fans! Rolling Stone says “This was much more than just another tribute band: the Bonham bloodline carries its own responsibilities. With state-of-the-art lighting and effects, dazzling video treatments and a crisp, thundering sound, the JBLZE offered a set of Led Zep gems that were strikingly faithful to the originals.” The concert includes Zeppelin classics from "I Can't Quit You Baby," "Dazed and Confused," "Kashmir," "The Lemon Song," to "When the Levee Breaks," "Moby Dick," and "Stairway to Heaven."

, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., , 148 N Main St, Hightstown. Homeowners throughout town will be participating in the annual borough-wide garage sale.

Saturday and Sunday

, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Terhune Orchards, 330 Cold Soil Rd, Princeton. Bring your own kite or purchase one in the store onsite. Watch sheep getting shorn (on Sunday), sample our food, and enjoy a tractor ride.
