Giamarese: How to Prepare Pumpkins for Pie (Video)

Want to make your own pumpkin pie? Here's how to get started.

Fall is in full bloom at . Pumpkins, apples, hay bales, and Halloween fun are all on hand. Here's April Lippet-Faczak, Agricultural Marketing Technician at Giamarese Farm with a quick primer on how to prepare pumpkins for cooking.

If youre looking for more to do, head over to the farm this month. Every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 30 will be the farm's Fall Fest. Hayrides will run from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every hour, and the corn maze is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Inside the maze, visitors will get to test their farm knowledge while they learn Agricultural Crop Facts of New Jersey.

For kids, there will be pumpkin painting and crafts, a pumpkin decorating contest, and a costume parade on Oct. 30 from 1 to 2 p.m. The parade is open to toddlers to 12 years old and toy store gift cards will be given to three lucky winners in the infant-3 year old, 4-8 year old and 9-12 year old categories.
