Visit one of many farmers markets in Central Jersey.

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture has called on New Jersey residents to visit local farmers markets to explore Jersey Fresh produce grown on local farms and to support the in-state farms that grow it.

"Farmers markets bring the farm to a community’s doorstep, giving people access to just-picked, high quality, nutritious produce grown by our state’s farmers,” said New Jersey Secretary Douglas H. Fisher in an Aug. 8 prepared statement.

The state just finished up its annual Farmers Market Week which ran from August 7 to 13.
