Monday, Feb. 21

Presidents Day, municipal, county, state offices and schools are closed.

Tuesday, Feb. 22 

Governor’s annual budget address, 2 p.m., Assembly Chambers, State House, Trenton. Gov. Chris Christie will present the outlines of his proposed 2011-2012 budget to a joint session of the state Legislature.

Buy Green, Save Green, 7 p.m., East Brunswick Library, 2 Civic Center Drive, East Brunswick.  Dr. Kevin Lyons, director of purchasing at Rutgers and chairman of the outreach committee for Rutgers Energy Institute, will talk about the environmental impact of buying habits. Sponsored by Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission.

Wednesday, Feb. 23

Parenting workshop, 7 p.m., South Brunswick Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. Stephanie Goodman, certified nutritional counselor specializing in nutrition for children with autism, ADHD, and gastrointestinal disorders.

Park plan review, Mercer County Park Commission, 5:30 p.m., Mountain View Golf Course clubhouse, Ewing. Presentation by consultant ETM Associates regarding interpretive plan for Mercer Meadows (formerly known as Mercer County Park Northwest).

Relay for Life, 7 p.m., Lawrence High School, 2525 Princeton Pike, Lawrence.  “Kick-off Celebration” for fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Thursday, Feb. 24

Come line dance with the 4-H Rhythm in Motion Cloggers at the 4-H Fairgrounds in East Brunswick. Don't worry if you don't know how, experienced dancers will be on hand to teach you everything you need to get started. To be held at the 4-H Cabin, 645 Cranbury Road, Eastd Brunswick. Doors open at 6 p.m. and lessons begin at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Price3 of admission is $5 in advance or $8 at the door. Contact Vicki Parker at 732-398-5261 for more information.

The East Brunswick Board of Education will meet at the board offices Thursday, at 8 p.m. to discuss the upcoming school budget.

Saturday, Feb. 26

Celebration of Dr. Seuss, 11 a.m., Hightstown Memorial Branch, Mercer County Library, 114 Franklin St., Highstown.

Black History discussion, 2 p.m., Cranbury Library, 23A N. Main St., Cranbury. Frank Marlowe will lecture on President Lyndon Johnson and the Civil Rights Movement.
