Presidential Portraits on Display Library

Come see the works of artist Don Bloom.

Visit the East Brunswick Public Library during January and see the works of local artist Don Bloom.

Bloom’s portraits of American presidents are based on a series of Presidential stamps put out by the United States Postal Service in 1986, with additions of America’s more recent residents.

The portraits were drawn after being commissioned by Edward Mendlowitz so that they could be printed on envelopes and have the new stamps cancelled with a special “First Day Issue” postmark. Bloom has received numerous awards, fellowships and scholarships during his career. His work is on permanent display at Rutgers University and many local libraries, including East Brunswick’s.
