Relay for Life Kick Off Set for Monday

A kick off celebration will be held at Chili's at 6 p.m.

The relay season is nearly here, and the American Cancer Society needs your help!

The Relay for Life Committee is holding a Kick-Off Celebration Monday March 12, at 6 p.m., at on Route 18 for anyone interested in participating this year. During the meeting, committee members will discus the event, scheduled for Saturday, June 9, from noon to midnight a

“It’s the kick off the relay season,” said Kaitlyn Buffone, manager of special events for Relay for Life American Cancer Society. “We introduce people to what Relay is, what its all about and  what to expect at the event. We have committee  people speak about each part of the Relay, show a video, talk about survivors, recognize survivors, and recognize caregivers.

Registration for the Relay for Life event is $10, but survivors walk for free. Monday's celebration is free and includes some appetizers.

Buffone said this year’s event would include a separate Survivor’s Dinner. The dinner is usually held on the day of the Relay, but this year it will be held on Wednesday, June 6, at the .
