Six Can't Miss Things To Do This Weekend

Yard Sales, plays and the Egyptian Festival are just a few things to do beginning tonight!

The heat and humidity are finally gone, so now maybe it’s time to open the door, get outside and have some fun.

If you’re looking for things to do, but don’t want to go far, then look no farther, Patch has more than a few events right here in East Brunswick that are guaranteed hits.

TONIGHT

Head to for Playhouse 22’s production of “” The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $20.

“Barefoot in the Park” by Neil Simon follows the lives of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they adjust to married life in a tiny Greenwich Village apartment. In typical Simon style, all manner of comic chaos ensues as the Bratter's marriage begins to collapse under the pressure of a five-flight walk-up, a skylight that leaks snow and Connie's misguided attempt to marry off her mother. Directed by Mary Lynn Dobson.

Also tonight, you might enjoy seeing some of the area’s youngest talent when , 6 Edgeboro Road, presents the . The show begins at 6 p.m. and admission is $10. 

The Kids Talent Show allows children to perform a variety of talents, including acting, drawing, singing, martial arts, playing instruments and other activities . There also will be line dancing, games and prizes. Bring your favorite dish! Call for details 732- 698-1161 for more details.

SATURDAY

Head out for some bargains and help a good cause. at 8 p.m. to be held at 85 Hilltop Blvd.

The sale will go to help support Frosty's Friends, which will help give presents to children for the holidays. Last year, the Wgirls NJ was able to sponsor 50 children. For more information, visit http://wgirls.org/new-jersey

, 144 Tices Lane East Brunswick, is the site for a sale co-hosted by the Y and the Girl Scouts. With multiple vendors set up inside and out, this will be a great place to get some deals rain or shine.

Proceeds from the sale help support the YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign, which provides scholarships to families for childcare, summer camp and after school programs.

Join the Quarterback Club at 7 p.m. at , 485 Cranbury Road, for starting at 7 p.m.  The cost is $40 to see comedian Rich Myer, all of the beer, wine, soda and appetizers. For more information contact Jodi Gerhartz at 908-239-8762.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

Visit St. , 433 Riva Ave. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the 34th Annual Egyptian Festival. You’ll be able to sample Egyptian food and pastries, Pharaonic productions, jewelry and leather goods, crafts and souvenirs. Tour the church and have a great time during this free event.
