The will come alive with beautiful dances, delicious food and cultural events Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as the Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central Jersey and the YMCA hold a 64th Independence Day Celebration to commemorate India’s independence from British rule and its birth as an independent nation in 1947.

The event, which is free to residents, will feature authentic Indian food (as well as pizza for the kids), Indian dances, musical and dance performances, a moon bounce and a variety of other activities for children.

The event, which the YMCA has held for several years with the Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central New Jersey, has seen attendance increase over the years, said YMCA Executive Director Tom Libassi. “It has grown from 100 attendees to 250 attendees, and we expect a larger turnout this year,” he commented.
