Broadway Fan? Winter's Good Time To Buy Tickets

Deals abound for the Broadway lover in your life.

For the Broadway fan in your life, why not consider a ticket to a new show or a long-running favorite? There's no better time to make a purchase than during the next few weeks, with all sorts of deals floating around.

For example, two-for-one tickets will go on sale Jan. 4 as part of Broadway Week, which runs from Jan. 17 through Feb. 4. This year’s participating shows are Anything Goes, Chicago, Chinglish, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, Godspell, Jersey Boys, The Lion King, Lysistrata Jones, Mamma Mia, Mary Poppins, Memphis, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Phantom of the Opera, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Private Lives, Relatively Speaking, The Road to Mecca, Rock of Ages, Seminar, Sister Act, Spider-Man, Stick Fly, and Wicked.

Off-Broadway Week will take place from Jan. 30 through Feb. 12. Again, tickets go on sale Jan. 4. Among this year’s participating shows are Avenue Q, Blue Man Group, Rent, and Stomp. Check for more details here.

For those with children, Kids' Night On Broadway is coming up soon, from Feb. 5 through Feb. 9. Kids' Night is when young people age 6 to 18 can see a participating Broadway show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Tickets for 2012 are already on sale. Participating shows include everything from Jersey Boys to Spider-Man to Wicked.

Visitors can now book hotel stays from Jan. 2 through Feb. 29 at more than 120 participating Get More NYC hotels. In addition, NYC Restaurant Week continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary year with 20 days of prix-fixe menus at more than 300 of the city’s most popular dining establishments from Jan. 16 through Feb. 10, Mondays through Fridays. Costs will remain $24.07 for three-course prix-fixe lunches and $35 for three-course prix-fixe dinners (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity).
