New Jersey Choral Consortium Concert

The New Jersey Choral Consortium, consisting of 33 community choruses from around the state, will present its first concert of male singers on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Kirkpatrick Chapel,  85 Somerset Street, on the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick at 8 PM. The concert is hosted by The Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus of Ridgewood, NJ and will be conducted by Dr. Patrick Gardner, Director of the Rutgers Glee Club. Now in his 17th season as the Director of Choral Activities at Rutgers University, where he conducts the Rutgers University Kirkpatrick Choir and the Rutgers University Glee Club, Dr. Gardner is also the director of the renowned Riverside Choral Society (RCS) in New York City.

The concert will include classic choral pieces for male voices, including Brothers, Sing On by Grieg,  Shenandoah by Bartholomew,  Vive L'amour arranged by Shaw/Parker, and others. The Orpheus Club Men’s Chorus of Ridgewood, under the direction of John Palatucci, will perform introductory pieces before the entire group sings. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Ron Levy, a renowned pianist associated with the Orpheus Club and several other musical ensembles in the greater metropolitan area.
