New Jersey Youth Symphony

The East Brunswick Public Schools will present the second of three cultural events in the 2011-2012 Arts in Education Series.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m., the New Jersey Youth Symphony will perform at the East Brunswick Performing Arts Center in , 200 Rues Lane, East Brunswick. Tickets for the evening performance are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. Tickets may be purchased in advance by visiting  www.ebnet.org/inthearts.  Tickets will also be available at the box office prior to the show.

The New Jersey Youth Symphony provides talented young musicians with orchestral and related music education experiences that enable them to reach their highest potential as performers and listeners. NJYS Music Director and Conductor Jeffrey Grogan leads a diverse cross-section of some of New Jersey’s best high school musicians. During the day Director Grogan will be facilitating workshops with East Brunswick students. The evening concert will feature a “grand finale” of combined NJYS musicians and East Brunswick students in a massive symphony orchestra that you will not want to miss!

This is the fourth year for the district’s Arts in Education Series organized by Arts Supervisor Jeffrey Lesser and funded in part by the East Brunswick Education Foundation. The series combines unique educational opportunities for the students with world-class performances by renowned visiting professional artists for the entire community to enjoy.

Save the date for The Fourth Annual Night of Jazz to be held on Wednesday, March 28, at the EBPAC at 7 p.m.
