The Art, History and Music of Versailles
Learn about the music and history of the great city of Versailles during a multi-media presentation at the East Brunswick Public library by Catherine Sprague on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.
This 90-minute presentation covers the history of Versailles and music from early French Baroque up through Mozart and Gluck. Included is video from a documentary on Louis XIV, clips of music played in the Hall of Mirrors and a virtual tour of the Royal Chapel at Versailles.
Come to this free multi-media presentation and immerse yourself in French baroque music and opulent architecture. Catherine Sprague holds degrees in music and psychology, with specialized studies in Baroque music, Versailles and Mozart. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
