Mega Movies Set for Harry Potter Finale

Mega Movies at the Brunswick Square Mall expects big - and colorful - crowds for the final chapter in the Harry Potter saga.

Whether you’re for Gryffindor or Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, one thing is certain – you're probably looking forward to the final installment of the Harry Potter movie series, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows,” part II.

The move opens Friday, July 15, across the country, with midnight showings scheduled almost everywhere, including .

“It’s colorful,” said  John DeNicola, Director of Operations at the theater. “We’ll have people lined up hours in advance in the lobby, dressed up as people from Harry Potter, as we’ve had in the past. It’s become quite a party atmosphere.”

Before the premier, Mega Movies will be show “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” part 1 beginning at 8:45 p.m. Tickets for that show will be $8, and $18.50 to see both features.

The Mega Movies has four theaters set aside for Harry Potter, two will be in 3-D, and can expand that to six theaters depending on demand.

“Typically, what happens in these cases is that people get tickets online, then come very early to get the best seating,” said DeNicola. “Then we have people who haven’t bought tickets who come early to buy tickets. We’ll have people lined up, I expect, at around 9 p.m.”

DeNicola said the event is bittersweet for fans of Harry Potter

“We all look forward to it,” he said. “The staff’s excited and gets into the spirit of it. It’s a social and cultural event here as I’m sure it is elsewhere.”
