Smashburger Unveils New Shake to Benefit Susan G. Komen

The Raspberry Sorbet Shake will be available from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

October's arrival also means its time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

As the entire country begins to think pink to support the cause, an East Brunswick eatery unveiled its newest tasty concoction to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Smashburger, which opened in February in the Summerhill Square, is offering a limited-time only Raspberry Sorbet Shake from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31.

The shake is hand-spun combining Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream with Häagen-Dazs raspberry sorbet. It sells nationwide for $4.49, with 40-cents from each shake sold donated to Susan G. Komen.

In addition, each Raspberry Sorbet Shake is served with a matching pink straw, as customers will also have the opportunity to make a donation to Komen online at www.komen.org/smashburger. Customer donations will be incremental to Smashburger’s minimum guaranteed donation of $25,000, the company said.

The East Brunswick Smashburger was the 12th of its kind in New Jersey, and one of the first in Central Jersey. In April, the 13th location opened on Route 1 in North Brunswick.

Smashburgers are made of Angus beef, are seared and “smashed” while cooking and seasoned with a secret mixture used by the restaurant.
