The 'House Next Door' Needs Donations

After a busy holiday season, the shelves at the "House Next Door" to the are bare.

The building sells clothes, toys, household items and almost anything that it receives in donations for a nominal price , with the proceeds going to help the Crisis Room food pantry next door.

“The always takes donations, and then there’s the house next door. We were cleaned out of a lot of stuff at Christmas,” said volunteer Florence Klancer. “A lot of stuff went and we got rid of a lot.”

The house also provides a place for people in need to get a variety of items at reasonable prices, including books, toys, clothes, suits and more.

To make a donation, bring donations to the white house next to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday. Store ours are 1 to 3 p.m., but volunteers are usually on site at around noon to take donations. The house has a request for a crib, but asks that donations of furniture not be given.

To make a donation to the shop, bring them to the store Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday during regular business hours, 1 to 3 p.m., or at around noon on those days. To make a monetary donations, makes checks out to the church and send them to 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, N.J. 08816.
