You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, East Brunswick Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice: Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
Carrabba’s was started by two chefs who describe themselves not as chefs, but as eaters. The pair was inspired by the Sicilian food they grew up with, and want to bring that experience to their customers.
Carrabba's on Route 18 and shares a building with the Bonefish Grill. The lively dining room has the ambiance of being in an Italian family kitchen. Antipasta, zuppe and insalate, stuffed pasta, brick-oven pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, linguine pescatore, tagliarini with mushrooms, lasagna, manicotti, and more. They serve lunch, dinner and have a special menu for little bambinos!
But, if you like pasta, and you like seafood, then you can’t go wrong with the lobster ravioli or crab cakes. Both put similar dishes at other restaurants to shame. If you’re in a hurry, the curbside dine and go is great and you still get a nice serving of bread as well as a handy packet of olive oil and seasoning to dip it in.
You also can order from the dinner menu or from the family-style carry-out menu. Visit their website, www.carrabbas.com, and order online if you like.
