Beautiful East Brunswick Photography Contest

The Beautiful East Brunswick Photography Contest ends on November 15th, so get your entries submitted.

There are only two weeks left to enter photographs in the Beautiful East Brunswick Photography Contest sponsored by the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission.

The contest ends on Nov.15, so get your photographs in. All entries are posted on the Friends site (www.friendsebec.com). There are categories for adults and children and all submissions are welcome. The rules are simple: East Brunswick residents may submit up to two photographs of nature in East Brunswick including plants, flowers, birds, trees, shrubs, and/or native animals, scenery, the sky, storms, or anything else that is nature-oriented and spotlights the beauty of natural East Brunswick. The photos need to have been taken in East Brunswick within the last two years. One winner and runner up from each age category will be recognized.

East Brunswick has many awesome beautiful places and open spaces and abundant nature and wildlife so the opportunities for finding places and things to photograph are abundant. Check out the Friends website for ideas on places around town to visit (www.friendsebec.com).

On Sunday morning after the record breaking October snow storm I went around town taking photos of places that aren't normally snow covered when the leaves are still on the trees. What I found was fantastic despite the headaches and damage the snow caused for so many people. I visited the vernal pools on Beekman Lane, the Community Garden, Keystone Park, Farrington Lake Giamerese's Farm and the Butterfly Park. Maybe a photograph or two that you took during or after the storm will be a winner. Please share them with us so we can all enjoy Beautiful East Brunswick.
