Beekman Road will be closed again tonight. The road is being closed largely for administrative and scheduling reasons as opposed to biological ones.
Although it is warm and stayed showery much longer than the weather forecasters predicted, the drying trend makes us think that it will not be a big night tonight. Searches of the woods today did not turn up a single salamander in the regular hiding places either. Who knows, maybe it will be the biggest night ever. But we are not counting on that happening.
