Cats and dogs up for adoption in the area.

Visit ARF's web page HERE.

While many animals are available, here are just a few you can find this weekend.

Trey is a handsome guy, abandoned by his owner at a high-kill shelter when they moved. He is sweet, but a little nervous at first since he has been bounced around so much. He has lived with kids and other cats. Trey is neutered, current on shots, FeLV and FIV negative and micro chipped. To adopt him is $85. Trey will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check back with the ARF website  on Saturday and Sunday to see if anything has changed.

Garfield is a friendly guy who loves attention. When he wants to be pet, he will even give you a head butt. He likes other cats. Garfield is neutered, current on shots, negative for FIV and FeLV and micro chipped. To adopt him is $85. Garfield will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check back with the ARF website  on Saturday and Sunday to see if anything has changed.

It will be a great weekend for Italia if she gets adopted. You see, the terrier is celebrating her sixth birthday this weekend. Come by the Edison center and celebrate with cake for the dogs, and for the people. Italia is some kind of wire-haired terrier mix. She is spayed. Her senior citizen owners had to give her up because they are moving into senior housing. She is friendly, but growls from time to time at first, but doesn't try to bite. She is great now with her foster mom. She is quite easy to deal with once she knows you. She doesn't show too well at our adoption center, because she is scared. She is completely housetrained, never crated. Though she seems to not like dogs when at our adoption center, she gets along with five dogs at the foster home. She has dry eye, so will always need drops in her eyes twice a day. To adopt her will cost $100. Italia will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check back with the ARF website  on Saturday and Sunday to see if anything has changed.

Gizmo is a 5-year-old, male Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Gizmo was originally a rescue from the Camden Shelter, he was adopted out for 4 years and now the adopters are moving and can't take him. He is a sweet boy, playful, sometimes nervous around new people. He is housetrained. He is currently living with two Yorkies in his foster home. He is neutered and current on shots. Gizmo will be at PetSmart on Route 18 in East Brunswick in the Midstate Mall shopping center Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check the ARF website on Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. to see if anything has changed.

Pippin is a very sweet Chihuahua mix, about 12 pounds, a little porky, who seems to like other dogs. He was a stray in a local shelter. He is probably about 8 years old. To adopt him will cost $150, which includes his neuter, heartworm test, shots, ID chip. He also has had dental work. Pippin will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check back with the ARF website  on Saturday and Sunday to see if anything has changed.
