Arf, Arf. Adopt a Dog or Cat this Weekend

The Animal Rescue Force has dogs and cats up for adoption.

Help find a cat or dog a home by attending one of several adoption events sponsored by the Animal Rescue Force of East Brunswick this weekend. ARF holds weekly adoption events throughout the area to find homes for animals that would have been euthanized in a shelter or whose parents can no longer care for them.

Every Saturday and Sunday you can find ARF at the PetSmart on
Route 18 in East Brunswick from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; at the Petco on Route 1 in Edison from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and at the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Road, Englishtown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (located in the big gray building).

Buster is a very sweet older dog. He’s about 8 years old and quiet. He is already neutered. He doesn't climb stairs very well. He gets along with other dogs.  To adopt him will cost $100.  Buster will be at the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Road, Englishtown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (located in the big gray building). Check the ARF website on Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. to see if anything has changed.

Emma may be what people are calling Chiweenies, a Chihuahua/dachshund mix. She is only 3 years old and is a little misunderstood, as most Chihuahua's are. She was turned into a high-kill shelter because she bit someone. She is dominant around people and sometimes snaps, so no kids.  She can also be very affectionate. She absolutely loves belly rubs and would like it if you could just quit your job and rub her belly all day and night. When you stop petting her she will nudge your hand with her nose to make you aware that you can't stop.

She likes other dogs, but is dominant around them.   She chases cats—she thinks it's fun, but the cats think otherwise.  She is terrified of men and will bark and growl at them, however calms down after a while. ARF volunteers are certain that with some patience she could get over that. She is really a great little dog and just needs someone experienced with Chihuahua’s or willing to learn about them. Emma is spayed, current on shots, heartworm tested and micro-chipped. Emma will be at the the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison in the Home Depot shopping center. Check the ARF website for updates.

Mittens is a sweetheart and is about 8 weeks old.  She was found as a teeny baby, living behind a grocery store in the woods. A kind lady scooped her up and took her home. She is current on her vaccines, spayed and has been dewormed. For more information, you can email her foster parent at AMRA444@MSN.COM. Mittens will be at the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison in the Home Depot shopping center. Check the ARF website for updates.

Angel is one of four kittens that a very kind couple took in when they were tiny. She is a bit shy but quickly warms up. She is up to date on her vaccines and is spayed. She will be at the the Petco adoption center on Route 1 in Edison in the Home Depot shopping center. Check the ARF website for updates.
