Eight East Brunswick Girl Scouts Receive Silver Awards

Eight East Brunswick Girl Scouts are among 207 scouts statewide who recently received the prestigious Girl Scout Silver Award from the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern NJ.

According to a press release from the organization, the Silver Award is the second highest award a Girl Scout can receive. It is awarded to scouts based on service, leadership skills and self-improvement, according to a press release from the organization.

"Earning the Silver Award is a multi-year process in which a girl completes components that help her build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement," according to the organization. "The Girl Scout Silver Award project can be undertaken individually or as a small group, with each girl completing 50 hours of work on her take action project.

The 207 Silver Award winners totaled over 10,300 service hours, according to the organization.

The Girl Scouts from East Brunswick who have been chosen to receive the Silver Award are:

  • Verinda Sood
  • Ridhi Vakharia
  • Nicole Ventrice
