Flood Advisory Issued for Middlesex

Heavy rainfall is the remains of Tropical Storm Lee.

The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Middlesex, Somerset, Northeastern Hunterdon, and Morris counties until 8:45 p.m.

At 5:44 p.m. the National Weather Service indicated an area of heavy rain across north central New Jersey, which will result in street flooding as well as rises in creeks and streams.

According to tonight’s forecast, storms could produce heavy rainfall with new rainfall between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

On Wednesday, there will be showers with a possible chance of a thunderstorm. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent with new rainfall totaling between a quarter and a half inch possible. On Wednesday night rainfall totals could be between another quarter and a half inch.

Rain also is expected Thursday, with new rain fall likely between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
