Freehold Man Injured in Route 18 Accident

Ryan Donnelly reportedly lost control of his car Monday night on Route 18 near Hope Road, according to police.

A Freehold man was injured in a serious accident Monday night on Route 18, police say.

According to a Nixle alert from the East Brunswick Police Department, around 7:20 p.m., Ryan Donnelly, 31, of Freehold, was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry southbound on Route 18 in the right lane when he lost control of the car near the intersection of Hope Street.

The car hit the curb and ran off the road, hitting several street signs and a utlity pole before striking a Pep Boys sign, according to the alert.

East Brunswick Rescue Squad, Trans Med Ambulance Service and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital responded to the scene and transported Donnelly to the New Brunswick hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, according to the alert.
