Get Involved with the Health Council

The Advisory Health Council is seeking new members.

The East Brunswick Advisory Health Council is accepting letters of interest from residents to fill existing vacancies.  If you are a resident who is interested in the health of our community, please send a letter to Mayor David Stahl stating your interest in serving on the council and/or your qualifications if you are in the health field.

Made up of 13 members, the Advisory Health Council is a group of volunteers dedicated to ensuring that the citizens of East Brunswick enjoy a healthy quality of life in our community.  The Advisory Health Council supports the work of the Middlesex County Health Department, and may also from time to time make recommendations to the mayor and Township Council.  The Advisory Health Council also develops and promotes health education programs at the local level, in addition to working cooperatively with the East Brunswick Environmental Commission in supporting their programs.

The council is beginning its fifth year of producing “Wellness Spotlight” programming with EBTV.  Wellness Workshops are taped once a month and include topics such as Backpack Safety for Kids, Nutrition, Ballroom Dancing, Bicycling, Yoga, the art of Reiki and much more.  The Council’s Wellness Spotlights support the goals of the ongoing statewide Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, a program dedicated to addressing issues of health care quality in New Jersey.
