Honor East Brunswick's Veterans on May 26

The township will hold a ceremony at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at the municipal building.

The Township of East Brunswick’s annual Memorial Day Observance will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Veterans Park on the grounds of the East Brunswick Municipal Complex at 1 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive.

This event honoring the men and women, who lost their lives defending our country, will begin at 1 p.m. – rain or shine.

Participating veterans groups include Jewish War Veterans Post #311; VFW Post #133; VFW Post #133 Ladies Auxiliary; AMVETS Post #34; American Merchant Marine Veterans, Dennis Roland Chapter of NJ; Vietnam Veterans of America; and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

AMVETS Post #34 will serve as the Host Post and they have chosen Mayor David Stahl to serve as Master of Ceremonies.  Other program participants include members of the US Naval Sea Cadets Corp serving as wreath bearers, the East Brunswick High School Brass Choir, the East Brunswick Community Chorus, and Girl Scouts of East Brunswick.

The program will include the Veterans Ceremony, Flag Raising, Presentation of Wreaths and a Mini-Patriotic Concert.  Mayor Stahl will also read the names of the soldiers on the HOMETOWN HEROES WALL in the East Brunswick Municipal Building.
