Veterans of WWII are dying each day, as evident by the Monday passing of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, the last living WWII veteran in the Senate, Kulbacki said.

Veterans are an "incredible resource," to this country, he said.

The event hosted between 35-40 couples for dining and dancing and each were sent home with framed formal photographs taken at the luncheon.

Kulbacki said the event was a success and the memorial home and the veterans home hope to continue it in the future.

"(The guests) all seem excited and all seem very appreciative," he said.
