More Roads Open, But Electric Still Out for Thousands

As the water recedes, East Brunswick is still cleaning up and many are left in the dark.

Many major roads throughout the state are beginning to open, including Route 18 into New Brunswick. Here's a list of state roads that are still closed, according to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management.

Locally, Church Lane between Dunhams Corner Road and Fresh Ponds Road is still closed, and Riva Avenue between Hardenburg Lane and the Milltown Border are still closed.

If you would like to report a road closure let East Brunswick Patch know.

I addition, the township has extended the hours of the Recycling Center, which will be open on Wednesday and brush will be picked up curbside during regular solid waste pick up days.

JCP&L is reporting that 1,398 residents in East Brunswick are without power while PSE&G simply gives the vague "estimate" of between 2,001 and 5,0001 East Brunswick residents being without power.
