Obituary: Arne Thomsson

Thomsson was a former committeeman for the East Brunswick Republican Party.

Arne Thomsson died Monday, July 15, 2013 at Naples Community Hospital, Naples, FL.  He was 84.

Born in Woodbridge, he resided in East Brunswick and Monroe Township for many years.

He was active in the hardwood veneer industry since 1954, and opened Brookside Veneers in 1973, where he remained active until the beginning of this year.

He was a graduate of the School of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University.  He was a former committeeman in the East Brunswick Republican Party, and had been a deacon at the New Brunswick Presbyterian Church.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a long time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Dunwoody Thomsson in 2012.

Surviving are three children, David and his wife Patricia Thomsson of Cranbury, Eric and his wife Ann Thomsson of Greensboro, NC, and Laura Thomsson of Milltown; three grandchildren, Douglas, Stephen, and Katie; and two step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick.

Interment will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday at Great Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Malvern, PA.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
