Obituary: Dorothy Duck

Duck worked as a computer programmer for the East Brunswick BOE for over 25 years.

Dorothy L. (Knight) Duck died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.  She was 79.

Born in New Brunswick, she resided in East Brunswick for the past 55 years.

Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was a computer programmer for the East Brunswick Board of Education, where she worked for over 25 years.

She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick.

She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert Duck in 1993, and by two sisters, Roberta Gardini and Eileen Naylor.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Gilliland of Lancaster, PA, James Gilliland and his wife Leslie of Dayton, and Edward Gilliland of East Brunswick; three daughters, Patricia and her husband Kevin Blumig of East Brunswick, Susan and her husband Duane Keach of East Brunswick, and Donna Taylor of East Brunswick; a brother, James Heiry of Spotswood; two sisters, Joan Serre of Tampa, FL and Patricia Harkay of Edison; 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Rebecca, Jessica, Liz, Kenny, Dan, Samantha, Dillon, Bryan, Danny, Kelly, Julie and John; and two great grandchildren, Marie and Steven.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
